The opportunity
Instrumentation engineer is responsible for activities related to its discipline within a project. He/She as part of a group of automation engineers assigned to the project, prepare deliverables and execute activities belonging to electrical discipline in compliance with safety and technological requirements and standards defined for the project.
He/She reports to the Head of Department, while reports to the Instrumentation Discipline Leader assigned to the project for the project related activities.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree in Automation Engineering.
* Experience in engineering design in Oil & Gas or Power sectors is preferred.
* Proactivity, sense of initiative, ability to work independently and in a team.
* Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken).
* Availability to short and long term national and international business trips.

Key responsibilities
Guided by the Automation Discipline Leader, Automation Engineer main tasks during project execution are:
Develop the discipline deliverables such as:
* Single Line Diagrams
* Load schedule/ Plant load balance
* Network studies and calculations (Load flow, short circuit, stability, protection settings, harmonics, etc.)
* Electrical equipment specifications for MV and LV equipment such as Motor Control Centers, switchgears, metering panels, transformers, UPSes, VFDs, motors, heaters, etc.
* Earthing, lighting, tracing systems
* CCTV, Public Address systems
* Electrical cables routing, power distribution
* Electrical layout drawings
* Field installation details
* Field equipment and accessories MTO
* Technical specifications / data sheets for field and control room instrumentation.
* Sizing and calculation of flow elements, control, and safety valves.
* Process hook-up sketches and relevant bill of materials.
* Interconnecting and wiring diagrams.
* Instrumentation cabling, wiring, junction boxes, power supply and distribution, UPS, and associated TCP/IP, SCADA, Modbus networking (switches, routers, Ethernet, fiber optics, etc.)
* Cause & effect matrices.
* Interlock and control logic diagrams.
* Interlock and control narratives.
* Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
* Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
* Packages and/or Machinery controls and protection systems
* Control and instrumentation design on Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
* Fire and Gas detection and protection systems
As part of the Department the Automation Engineer:
* Provides feedback to Instrumentation Discipline Leader to increase efficiency of the group assigned to the project
* Receives continuous training on the job according to the needs of the Department acquiring competences and shared experiences
* Keeps him/herself updated about the electrical design
* Pursues the continuous improvement of his/her proficiency and technical competences
Possible additional tasks:
* He/She can participate to manufacturer inspections
* He/She can assist the pre-commissioning/commissioning supervisor and start-up supervisor for all those activities related to plant process automation
