Job Posting – INTERNSystem Validation Engineer (EDG MNAND Validation - System Debug)Location: Arzano, ItalyJob Type: InternshipDepartment: EDG MNAND ValidationAs a System Validation Intern at Micron Technology, Inc., you will support Managed NAND firmware or SSD (FW) debug activities at the system platform level, giving to the development of software and hardware tools for analysis and validation.Working closely with the design and integration teams, you will assist in supporting MNAND products such as eMMC and UFS on Android, Linux, and QNX platforms. Your contributions will help both internal teams (FW, validation, verification) and Business Unit (BU) application engineers in resolving technical issues.The ideal candidate is passionate about debugging and problem-solving, and is eager to explore innovative tools and methodologies. We are looking for a motivated and versatile intern who is excited to supply to the evolution of debug and validation methodologies for MNAND products.Responsibilities
Assist in system validation on Android/Linux/QNX platforms (e.g., phones, mobile and automotive development boards)Support the development of source code/tools targeting embedded systemsHelp enable and modify host platform management featuresGive to configuration and trade-off analysis for future MNAND designsRun benchmark tools and perform critical analysis of output (e.g., performance data)Participate in the design of automated kernel logging systems (e.g., dmesg, kmsg, ftrace)Support kernel driver error handling activitiesAssist in building Linux kernels to enable/disable MNAND features
Required Qualifications
Basic experience or academic exposure to system validationFamiliarity with Bash shell scripting and validation workflowsKnowledge of Python programming and Programming skills in C (proficiency in C++ would be beneficial)Basic understanding of Android, Linux, or QNX architecturesExperience with lab tools such as protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG/ICE debuggers
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in testing and test coverage to ensure validation quality and time-to-market (e.g., design verification, code reviews, prototyping, product testing)Exposure to data storage technologies such as NAND, SSD, eMMC, or UFSExperience in firmware development and validation, system failure analysis, and problem-solvingFamiliarity with modern protocol analyzers and software development methodologiesExperience using AI‐powered tools to enhance productivity and assist in code development and debugging

Education & Experience
Currently acquiring a Master's degree or recently completing a Master's program, or possessing equivalent expertise in computer engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.Previous internship or academic project experience in embedded systems validation is beneficial.
