About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer within the R&D department of “HMI and Control board appliance and Industrial”, you will be responsible for the mechanical development of plastic and metal components used in electronic systems, particularly for household appliances and similar applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tooling / mold suppliers, industrialization, production, and international clients, to ensure :
* Definition of product requirements and mechanical architecture
* Design, validation and homologation of developed parts
* Design for manufacturing in terms of mold industrialization and easy / cost effective / safe assembly in production
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and development of plastic and metal mechanical components for electronic applications.
2. Interface with suppliers (internal and external) to define mold construction technologies and validate final components.
3. Collaborate with production teams to define assembly processes and select appropriate technologies.
4. Work closely with client technical offices (including international) to define project requirements and develop technical solutions.
5. Analyze customer requirements and define mechanical architecture and requirements, starting from internal system requirements and architecture.
6. Create technical specifications, BoMs, 2D / 3D drawings, and project documentation.
7. Analysis and test prototypes, ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements.
8. Support production in resolving quality issues and maintaining documentation.
9. Prepare reports, manuals, and acceptance test documentation.
Required Qualifications
10. Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
11. 2–5 years of experience in mechanical systems development for electronics, preferably in industrial sectors.
12. Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (preferably CREO), including wiring harness modeling.
13. Strong knowledge of plastic and metal materials and their processing technologies.
14. Familiarity with product and material standards and regulations.
15. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
16. Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
17. Fluent in English (spoken and written).
18. Willingness to travel to clients, suppliers, and company sites (including abroad).
19. Experience in managing Design for Manufacturing and related request
20. Experience in Worst case analysis and stack-up analysis
21. Experience in DFMEA.
Preferred Skills
22. Experience with FEM simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS) for structural, vibrational, and thermofluidynamic analysis.
23. Experience with PDM / PLM tools such as Intralink and Teamcenter.
24. Ability to see the “big picture,” take initiative, and manage time effectively.
25. knowledge of French or German is a plus.
