Business Controller – Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine

Business Controller provides finance and business leadership to specified Brand/Disease teams and supports the BU Finance vision within the J&J; Innovative Medicine Italy Operating Company.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as the finance partner to Business Unit Leads, managing operating expenditures and sales forecasting, providing business rationale, and influencing resource allocation decisions with short‑ and long‑term focus.
- Drive initiatives in the local Finance team to implement the global finance transformation program and continuous improvement of finance processes.
- Handle assigned elements of the business plan, challenging business partners on assumptions.
- Manage projects through collaboration with stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Support the digital agenda and shape the future of the finance function.
- Maintain compliance standards while processing day‑to‑day tasks, monthly/quarterly journal entries, accounting controls, and reconciliations.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience with strong finance, accounting, and business acumen.
- Preferred Master’s degree in Economics or Finance.
- Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Industry is an advantage.
- Strong collaborative, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust with business leaders and finance colleagues.
- Ability to influence business partners with fact‑based data.
- Project experience in finance transformation processes, including digital skills.
- Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills.
- High intellectual curiosity and the ability to drive outcomes.
- Team player with a positive, can‑do attitude and agility to manage multiple work streams.
- Fluency in Italian and English (both oral & written) is required.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (required) and PowerPoint; Power Platform skills an advantage.
