Introduction / Purpose
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based scientific expert for the assigned territory.
The MSL reports to the MSL Manager within the Medical Department and conducts non-promotional, peer-to-peer scientific interactions with key external experts (KOLs) and other healthcare professionals to discuss science and the safe use of Sobi medicines.
The role aims to contribute to innovative healthcare partnerships and improve patient outcomes by leveraging evidence, understanding current practices, patient journeys, unmet needs, and opportunities to inform medical and cross-functional strategy.
The MSL serves as the first field contact for medical/scientific aspects related to the product/therapeutic area and collaborates with the Medical Team, R&D;, Marketing, Market Access, and Commercial teams while maintaining full compliance with applicable requirements.
Key Responsibilities / Scope of the Job
Engage in scientific interactions with KOLs and other relevant stakeholders
Provide scientific support to internal teams
Manage administrative responsibilities (customer relationship management tools, expense reporting) in a timely manner
Complete Sobi trainings as per plan within the given deadline
Qualifications
Requirements / Skills:
PharmD, PhD, MD, or other postgraduate degree in health sciences
Preferable experience in a medical science function role (at least 2-3 years)
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
Results-oriented, positive, resilient attitude
Ability to work independently and as a team player
Capable to adapt and organize in a field-based environment
Ability to create and foster effective scientific relationships with KOLs and other relevant stakeholders
Patient-focused mindset
Curious and growth mindset
Knowledge of the Healthcare System and guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry
Strong personal integrity and commitment to compliance
Preferable experience within rare diseases, new products, pre-launch and launch activities planning and execution
Languages
Required: good written and spoken English
