What are you going to do as an Intern in breeding As an intern in breeding at our R&D station in Tarquinia, Italy, you will work together with fennel breeding colleagues locally and internationally. Your main objective during your internship will be to characterize genetic materials, analyze data, and set up breeding evaluation protocols. To achieve your goal, you will dive into literature and consult your colleagues at Enza Zaden. Due to your inquisitive and persistent nature, you will be able to start developing the right breeding attitude and approach, touching with your hands breeding fields and activities. You will be of great value to the breeding colleagues, who will help and supervise you. Assist the Senior Breeder to execute the crop breeding plans successfully - The intern will work closely with the Senior Breeder to accomplish the breeding goals and specific projects as well as actively participate in all tasks related to breeding, testing, and selection. - Help plan, organize, and oversee field and greenhouse trials. - Develop an understanding of the culture, morphology, and floral biology of the crop to implement efficient breeding strategy - Become familiar with analytical methods for evaluation of genetic material. Profile: - A Master/PhD holder in Plant Breeding or a relevant Agriculture field who is interested in plant breeding and willing to develop your career. - You are able to work in open field condition, for many hours a day - Your strong communication skills enable you to cooperate effectively with colleagues and maintain relationships with external contacts. - Basic training related to plant breeding will be provided. - You are practical and work in a precise and structured way. - Speak english fluently - Driver license Our power Enza Zaden is a vegetable breeding company that develops vegetable varieties.
