We are expanding our technician teams within the EMEA regions and have openings for Installation Technicians. This is an unique opportunity to work in some of the most innovative and fast‐paced data centres in the world. The Infrastructure Delivery team is responsible for the scaling and physical deployment of new data centre infrastructure. As part of that team, you will be primarily tasked with installing cabling and new racks within the data centres. You must be able to perform repetitive tasks and adhere to standard processes and best practices, and work in a team environment that requires clear communication and cross‐team collaboration.
Key job responsibilities
Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data centre.
Installation and testing of copper and fibre optic cabling.
Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
Managing inventory of related materials.
Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
Physical requirements
This position has a physical component and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.
Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required in accordance with local safety regulations.
Regularly work at heights and from ladders.
Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions.
Location requirements
Our data centres are located in remote areas outside Milan, where access via public transport may be limited. A valid in‐Italy driving licence is required for this role.
Work schedule
This is a 100% onsite in‐person position due to the hands‐on nature of managing mission‐critical infrastructure.
Basic qualifications
1+ years of structured cabling (Copper/Fiber) installation experience.
Good understanding of industry cable test procedures and equipment for a variety of cabling systems (Copper/Fibre test equipment, OTDR, network analyser, VFL, etc.).
Ability to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 16 kg with two‐person support or equipment.
Valid in‐Italy driving licence.
Preferred qualifications
Several years of data‐centre structured cabling infrastructure experience.
General comprehension of the various components and sub‐components of data‐centre infrastructure.
