Field Service Engineer (Italy) – AMETEK
Due to continued growth within the global service team, we have an exciting vacancy for a Field Service Engineer in North Italy.
Responsibilities
Work on a stand‐alone basis, maintain team spirit and share knowledge with colleagues.
Have full responsibility within a territory to deliver world‐class service to our customers.
Install, maintain, and use expert troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues on a variety of roundness and surface‐finish measuring instruments.
Provide remote call pre‐qualification and attempt remote fixes wherever possible.
Be the focal point for customer issues and technical enquiries.
Document and report technical issues where necessary.
Provide training as required to customers and local distributors.
Look for opportunities and report wherever possible.
Essential & Desirable Skills
Good grounding in mechanical/electronic or multidisciplinary engineering.
Ability to read, interpret and analyse schematics, assembly drawings and wiring diagrams.
Previous experience in a technical customer‐facing role; recent graduates welcomed.
Ability to interact with and provide feedback to internal stakeholders including technical support teams, manufacturing, and R&D.
Ability to build trust relationships with customers.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Valid and clean driving licence.
Can work alone while representing AMETEK at customer sites.
Prepared to work flexible hours when required.
Prepared to assist colleagues in other regions when required.
Skills & Experience
High energy level with the ability to take initiative.
Experience within a matrix management environment.
Team‐oriented, collaborative, pragmatic, multitasking and flexible.
Computer fluent, with specific attention to e‐mail and Microsoft Office product skills; CRM and Service tools.
Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively.
Follow set procedures but can identify when change is required.
Requirements
Mechanical, electrical or electronic service expert.
Proven experience in high‐demand B2B customer service.
Based in one of the following regions: Lombardia, Piemonte or Emilia Romagna.
English: good communication skills, written and spoken.
Strong customer service attitude with a critical mind‐set.
Good planning and organisational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; self‐motivated and a team player.
