Role Overview"Underwriting assistant" – Participate in end‑to‑end processing of underwriting activity in the AIG AESA unit for the Italian market. Supports internal and external stakeholders, maintains data quality and adheres to service level targets.ResponsibilitiesPartner with underwriters and COE partners for new and renewal processing.Assist in pre‑binding activities.Liaise with brokers/clients, gather required data for quotes.Prepare referral documentation and issue quotes.Decline submissions outside underwriting guidelines.Manage transaction files and post‑binding servicing activities such as updating bind subjectivities.Support policy booking, issuance and issuance of binder/slip, policy and endorsement for the SSC.Follow‑up on open subjectivities, cancellation letters where appropriate.Assist risk engineering and underwriting with risk‑engineering program execution.Collect data for purchased reinsurance and gather amendment information on premium‑based policies.Work with Collection department to handle finance queries and support unpaid premium recovery.Set up systems and platforms, provide technical direction on workflow management tools.Assist in data integrity, rate changes and submit technical, linesise, limits and premium reports.Support a variety of underwriting projects and audit preparations.Assist in complaints handling and compliance support.QualificationsBachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience; vocational training in business/insurance accepted.Ability to prioritize and navigate multiple systems simultaneously.Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.Strong client servicing and proactive communication.Problem‑solving ability with attention to detail.Fluency in local Italian, working knowledge of English (B2 CEFR).
