As a Principal Economist on the team, you will lead the way in shaping how Prime Video consistently makes smart, long-term decisions using online experimentation. Economists at Amazon partner closely with senior management, business stakeholders, and peer technologists to solve key business problems.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead initiatives to measure the value of new feature launches via large-scale online experiments and observational approaches
* Scale decision‑making across Prime Video by owning trade‑off frameworks when competing interests fail to align
* Partner with finance, business, and product managers to bridge the gap between science decisions and business impact
* Develop new internal tools to provide visibility and explainability into the model outputs so users can understand and inform future features
Basic Qualifications
* PhD in economics or equivalent field
* Experience in industry, consulting, government or academic research
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in analytics and applied economics
* Experience in developing and executing an analytic vision to solve business‑relevant problems
* Experience in building statistical models using R, Python, STATA, or a related software
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $170,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $294,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
