Airbus Helicopters Italia Srl is a leader in advanced helicopter maintenance and operations, operating under a fully integrated Safety Management System (SMS) that spans Part‑145, CAMO, DOA, and POA organisations. The company is also a certified Airbus Helicopters and Safran H.E. training centre, providing cutting‑edge expertise to its clients.
We are looking for a Senior Aviation Safety Officer to serve as the operational point of reference for Safety Managers, driving the implementation and continuous improvement of the SMS, ensuring compliance with EASA regulations (including Part‑IS) and the risk‑management requirements of EN 9100.
Main Responsibilities
* Coordinate the hazard identification and risk assessment process within the SMS and monitor the effectiveness of mitigation actions.
* Manage the flow of internal and external occurrence reports, leading safety investigations to identify root causes and human‑factor contributors.
* Support the implementation of the Information Security Management System (Part‑IS), monitoring threats and ensuring compliance with new EASA requirements.
* Plan and execute safety audits and internal verifications, ensuring operational processes align with manuals and safety standards.
* Collaborate on the review and update of company manuals (MOE, CAME, DOH, POE) and SMS procedures, ensuring alignment between different approvals.
* Develop safety performance indicators (SPI) and relative targets (SPT), preparing analytical reports for the Safety Board and competent authorities.
* Design and conduct training sessions and workshops on human factors and safety, actively promoting a reporting culture.
Qualifications
* At least 3–5 years of experience in safety or quality roles within EASA‑regulated aviation organisations (preferably with a focus on helicopters or component/engine management).
* In‑depth knowledge of EASA Part‑145, Part‑CAMO, Part‑21 (J & G) regulations, with Part‑IS knowledge considered a strong added value.
* Mastery of risk‑analysis methodologies and incident/anomaly investigation techniques.
* Certification as an Internal Auditor (ISO 19011 or EN 9100); familiarity with the AS/EN 9100 standard is important.
* Strong command of human‑factor principles and the ability to influence operational staff positively.
* Excellent command of technical English (essential for manuals and relations with authorities).
* Proficiency with aviation management software and data‑analysis tools.
* High analytical capacity, decision‑making autonomy and strong communication skills to interface with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Design departments.
