Build Something from the Ground UpCV Engineering is seeking an experienced Steel Detailing Department Manager to establish and lead our steel detailing function supporting industrial plants, OEM equipment, platforms, and structural building systems. This is a high-impact leadership role for a Tekla expert who wants to shape standards, build a team, and drive quality across complex steel projects.You will serve as the technical authority for steel modeling and detailing while building scalable workflows, quality processes, and production systems that support our growing engineering and construction portfolio.What You'll Do
Lead and develop CV Engineering's steel detailing department and production workflowsServe as the technical authority for Tekla Structures modeling standards and drawing qualityEstablish and enforce QA/QC processes for shop, assembly, and erection drawingsPerform hands‐on modeling and detailing during department startup and growth phasesReview and release fabrication and erection drawingsCoordinate closely with engineers, project managers, schedulers, and fabrication partnersPlan workloads, manage production schedules, and meet project milestonesMentor and train detailing staff as the team expandsSupport hiring, onboarding, and training of new detailersDrive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and workflow efficiencySupport cross‐functional and international coordination efforts
What We're Looking ForRequired Experience & Skills
Expert-level Tekla Structures proficiency5-10+ years of professional steel detailing experienceStrong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection practicesExperience producing and reviewing Tekla-based models and drawingsAbility to interpret engineering drawings, connection designs, and construction documentsExperience working directly with fabrication shops and erection teamsStrong leadership, organization, and team management skillsExcellent communication and coordination abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldExperience with industrial steel structures, platforms, plant facilities, or OEM equipmentPrior supervisory or department leadership experienceFamiliarity with AISC, AWS, OSHA, Eurocode standardsInternational or offshore coordination experience
