Job Role / Responsibilities The Financial Accountant will assist with all accounting related functions to maintain effective accounting and reporting systems. The primary focus of the role is to ensure complete, accurate, and timely closing of the monthly and quarterly books and successful completion of external audits. A sharp focus on Gross Margins, Net Profits, Free Cashflow, and Shareholder Wealth Creation is required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, month-end process, financial reporting, revenue reporting, analytical reviews, and fixed assets accounting. The role involves working with the finance leadership team to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the company’s accounting systems, general internal controls, and reporting to meet company standards. A strong understanding of IFRS reporting and acquisition accounting is essential. The current finance team comprises 20 colleagues across Finance and MIS across Europe. Key Responsibilities Assisting in accounts preparation for Group operations, including: Preparation of monthly board packs (consolidated P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, Ratio Analysis, and detailed notes) Assisting in the preparation of detailed IFRS Financial statements with supporting schedules Managing the foreign exchange risk exposure of the Group Maintaining a strong financial reporting and control ethos across the group Responding to ad hoc information requests Managing & reporting of working capital and related metrics Assisting in the production of the annual budget and forecasts Calculating and issuing financial and operating metrics Analyzing variances from budgets/forecasts and reporting to management Maintaining documented accounting policies and procedures Working with auditors regularly Preparing statutory returns, including tax and employment returns Managing internal audit processes Monitoring key financial controls Supporting the integration of acquired companies into the group structure and technical aspects of purchase agreements Assisting in implementing IFRS reporting across the group Supporting the development of financial controls and reporting processes to support future growth Performing other ad hoc tasks as required Qualifications and experience required: Qualified Accountant with 2-3 years PQE in a relevant position Experience collaborating with commercial, product, and operations leaders Strong understanding of managing a business across multiple international locations Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite Personal characteristics include a positive, solution-oriented mindset, self-motivation, attention to detail, and strong operational and strategic thinking skills.
