Solaris Biotech is a Donaldson brand that designs and manufactures bioprocessing equipment, including bioreactors, fermenters, and tangential flow filtration (TFF) systems for R&D and production purposes. We engage in providing high-tech bioprocess solutions. Our products are used in universities, research centers, biotech, pharma, food and beverage, nutraceutical, cosmeceutical, chemical, agricultural industries, bioplastics, and biofuels applications. We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer based in Porto Mantovano. Key Responsibilities: Support R&D efforts for up- and downstream bioprocessing by designing and developing innovative bioreactor and filtration solutions for biotech, pharma, and food and beverage industries. Apply industry and engineering experience to innovate and solve complex customer challenges, creating competitive advantages in bioprocessing. Develop mechanical design concepts in 3D. Perform calculations and simulations in collaboration with process engineering and manufacturing teams. Ensure engineering designs comply with cGMP, pharmaceutical regulations, and local standards. Assist in evaluating prototypes and manufacturability. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or Pharmaceutical Engineering. 1-3 years of experience in mechanical design of equipment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams. Basic understanding of regulatory and quality standards (CE, cGMP, etc.). Fluent in English; willingness to learn Italian is a plus. Technical Skills: Knowledge of process control and P&ID standards. Experience with hydraulic sizing of lines and process equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, etc.). Understanding of machinery safety regulations (Machinery Directive, PED, ASME-U, etc.). Proficiency in 2D/3D software like AutoCAD, Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Siemens NX. Ability to manage multiple projects and a hands-on problem-solving approach.
