The Design for Scale Reliability Engineer supports Amazon Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging Engineering in developing and testing Robotics/Mechatronics systems, Packaging Automation, and Sortation systems. This role requires innovation, analysis, planning, organization, implementation, and management of process and reliability improvement projects to maximize safety, economy, and efficiency of materials, energy, and personnel. To join our Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging team, we are looking for a Hardware Reliability Engineer for product development. This role involves managing the product's reliability lifecycle from concept development, hardware reliability testing, to confidence improvement. You will collaborate with multiple teams amidst ambiguity to support product growth. The role demands maintaining a high pace to complete projects and a clear understanding of reliability goals from early stages. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures Experience in Design for Reliability (DfR) for new product development Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) Certified Reliability Engineer (ASQ or TUV). Python for Data Science skills are a plus. Experience as a Reliability Engineer or in a similar role Ability to develop engineering, design, and production verification test objectives based on reliability risks and failure modes Proficiency in reliability engineering principles, methods, and tools (e.g., Reliability prediction, FMEA, DOE, Weibull analysis) Understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on product reliability PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working with interdisciplinary teams on design for reliability from concept to production Master’s degree in Engineering or related field Effective cross-functional communication and collaboration skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Knowledge of industry standards and regulations Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Minitab, JMP, Weibull) Experience with Design Validation Plan & Report (DVP&R) development Knowledge of Python coding for Weibull analysis and other reliability analytics Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
