CalPortland is seeking a summer intern for the Oro Grande cement plant. This internship is ideal for a student interested in Process/Automation Engineering. The intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of heavy capital projects and/or maintenance projects, gaining exposure to the cement industry.Compensation$20.50-$27.00/hr DOEResponsibilities
Assist in Gyp/Urea testing and record-keepingAssist in monthly Process Performance report data gatheringAssist Automation team as requiredComplete Safety and MSHA training and any other site/job specific required trainingCarry out and practice all Safety training and Company policies in the CalPortland workplaceAdditional work with other engineering disciplinesAssist in routine housekeeping and maintenance of the facilitiesLearn about other CalPortland departments and interface as requiredAttend summer intern event at corporate headquarters in Las Vegas, NVPerform plant tasks as assigned
EducationCurrently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Process or Automation EngineeringRequirements/Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Good attendance and punctualAbility to work a flexible scheduleAbility to work independently and in a team settingMust possess a valid driver's license, insurance and be insurable to drive company vehicles
Preferred
Experience with equipment management softwarePrior experience or internship in the construction or building materials industry
