Communications Manager – Splendido Portofino

The Communications Manager is responsible for the two Belmond properties based in Portofino – Splendido and Splendido Mare – implementing all communications activities and supporting the strategy defined by the Divisional Brand and Marketing Director and the Communications Director.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Planning, Execution & Coordination
* You will work closely with the Divisional Communications team to develop and execute property communication plans that support global and divisional business goals.
* You will be the key point of contact for internal stakeholders and will facilitate communications across teams to inform and generate maximum visibility for all property and divisional activities.
Media & KOLs Relations & Events
* Manage media and KOLs relations and proactively research new contacts to increase the media and KOLs database.
* Proactively pitch journalists for editorials and single press visits to achieve property press targets and increase brand awareness.
* Organize media trips and coordinate single visits.
* Develop press material (press releases, news updates, etc.), respond to media and agency enquiries and keep the internal media platforms updated.
* Organize and support the creation and production of property events, developing relationships with new partners and curating attendee lists based on targets set.
Support Social Media Content Creation Strategy
* Work closely with the Divisional Social Media Managers to build property communication plans that align across all platforms and ensure new stories and campaigns are effectively communicated.
* Support the Divisional Communication team and Social Media teams with the growth of the brand advocate community – research and develop new relationships with content creators and photographers.
* Assist and support the Marketing team as the key reference person on property, supporting with photo shoots and the implementation of Marketing projects.
Line Management
* Manage and coach a trainee or Communications Executive with training and career development when available.
Reporting & Analysis
* Regularly analyze and report on media coverage, events, initiatives and share successes with key internal stakeholders, through PowerPoint presentations and written reports.
* Monitor and manage property performance on media platforms such as Launchmetrics (press) and Lefty (social media).
Other
* Demonstrate knowledge of culture, trends, and competitor activities to inform departmental strategies.
* Act as a role model of Belmond's core behaviours.
Requirements
* 5+ years of public relations / communications experience, preferably within the hospitality industry.
* Highly organized and methodical, able to manage multiple projects under pressure, even during peak season.
* Understanding of and sensibility to luxury hospitality markets.
* Ability to foster collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders and disciplines.
* Imaginative thinker, able to deliver media results through creative storytelling.
* Excellent communication skills with strong presentation and writing skills.
* Passion for excellence.
* High energy and enthusiasm.
* Fluent in Italian and English.
* Ability to travel.
