Work requires independent judgment in managing multiple priorities and coordinating work activities to meet schedules and goals. Duties include: /p ol liGIS system and database design, creation, and maintenance /li liProject coordination /li liClient services /li liGeo-spatial product production /li liUnmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) operations /li /ol pThe workload ranges from moderate to heavy, serving Tribal-wide needs and possibly other agencies and the public. The environment is hierarchical, similar to tribal, federal, or military organizations. The position reports directly to the Tribe's IT / GIS Manager and involves fieldwork using GPS and UAS equipment, sometimes in remote areas. Physical activities may include lifting up to 70 lbs. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liCoordinate technical GIS projects, manage resources, and report progress /li liDesign, create, and maintain the Tribe’s Enterprise GIS System and data /li liAssist in data needs assessment and procurement /li liPerform GIS analysis and produce maps and reports /li liDevelop GIS applications and ensure quality control /li liProvide technical support and training /li liEvaluate new GIS technologies /li liManage the Tribe’s UAS Program, including flight planning, operation, data processing, and library management /li liAssist with GIS product recommendations and staffing /li liParticipate in professional development and grant management /li liSupervise GIS staff as needed /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liSupport the Tribe’s vision, mission, and values /li liComply with health policies, including vaccination /li liBachelor’s degree in GIS or related field plus at least four years’ experience, or equivalent combination /li liProficiency with Windows OS, Microsoft SQL Server, Esri Geodatabases, ArcGIS software, programming languages (Python, SQL, .NET), and peripheral devices /li liExperience with UAVs, including flight planning, operation, and data processing /li liAbility to work independently and in teams, with flexibility for extended hours and travel /li liAbility to obtain FAA Part 107 license /li liKnowledge of habitat conservation, land management, and GIS applications in natural resources /li liStrong research, communication, and problem-solving skills /li /ul pApplicants may undergo interviews and practical tests.
