In a nutshell
To strengthen the Engineering Department at Fuji Seal Italy, we are hiring an Automation Engineer who will report directly to the Head of the Automation Engineering Office and contribute to the design, development, and commissioning of machinery and automation solutions for the packaging industry.
The role involves strong hands-on involvement in software development, testing, commissioning, and technical support activities, both at the Rodigo (MN) headquarters and at customer sites, within an international and technologically advanced environment.
Your area of responsibility:
1. Programming of industrial automation and control systems (PLC and HMI)
2. Software development for integration and communication with other machines within the production line
3. Motion control programming and management of electric drives and servo systems
4. Testing and commissioning of components and complete machines at Fuji Seal Italy facilities and at customer sites
5. Development of software solutions for reporting, diagnostics, and maintenance functions
6. Programming and application of vision systems for presence detection, positioning, product orientation, and OCV/OCR inspections
7. Programming and integration of thermal transfer and laser marking/printing systems
8. Preparation of technical machine documentation, including operation and maintenance manuals and pharmaceutical-compliant documentation
9. Management of software updates, system integrations, and customizations in accordance with technical specifications
10. Direct collaboration with customers and on-site technical support during installation and delivery phases
11. Availability to travel internationally for approximately 80–90 days per year
Job requirements:
12. You hold a technical diploma or a degree in Engineering (Automation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering)
13. You currently hold, or have previously held, a similar role in the packaging or industrial automation sector, with at least 2–3 years of experience
14. You have hands-on experience in PLC and HMI programming (. Siemens, Rockwell, B&R)
15. You have experience in motion control programming, preferably with B&R systems
16. You have a solid understanding of electric drives and industrial automation systems
17. You have programming experience using structured languages and/or C, C++
18. You are familiar with industrial safety systems (. Pilz, B&R)
19. You have experience with industrial vision systems (B&R, Cognex, Keyence, Omron)
20. You have experience with industrial printing and marking systems (Domino, Markem, Videojet, or equivalent)
21. You are fluent in spoken and written English
