THE ROLE
As a Supply Chain Planner, you’ll manage demand forecasts and supply plans while collaborating with business managers and the Supply Chain Team to ensure timely purchase orders, optimize shipment routes and container usage. You’ll also have exposure to the end-to-end supply chain operations, taking responsibility for the Italian supply chain operations of one of our largest brands.
You will be joining a dynamic Supply Chain team established just one year ago. This presents a unique opportunity to not only master the core functions of your role but to also actively shape our processes, implement new systems, and drive significant improvements across the business. WHAT WILL YOU DO
Demand & Supply Planning
* Develop and own robust demand forecasts by analysing historical data, market trends, and partnering with brand teams to incorporate promotional activity and market intelligence.
* Translate forecasts into actionable supply plans, constantly monitoring accuracy and dynamically adjusting to mitigate both out-of-stock and overstock risks.
Inventory & Logistics Management
* Manage the end-to-end purchase order lifecycle, from order quantities based on supply plans to securing approvals with leadership and monitor stock arrivals in tandem with our logistics specialist.
* Strategically allocate stock across three sales markets based on current requirements.
* Optimise inbound shipments by collaborating with the logistics team on routes, transport modes, and container utilisation to enhance efficiency.
Process Improvement & System Evolution
* Champion the continuous improvement of our planning tools and methodologies. You will lead key initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy, including the critical project of transitioning from spreadsheet-based models to a dedicated automated planning system.
Brand Operations
* Act as the supply chain partner for one of our largest brand’s Italian operations. You will manage the relationships with local manufacturers and warehouse partners while working very closely with the brand team.
REQUIREMENTS
* Very good analytical skills and advanced Excel/ Google Sheets skills. Ability to create, maintain & improve complex models
* 3 years of Supply Chain experience, ideally with at least 1 year of planning experience
* Supply Chain experience for e-commerce businesses or Amazon seller business is a strong plus
* Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes
* Highly organised with excellent prioritisation abilities
* Skilled at condensing vast disparate data into actionable insights and the ability to present these clearly at senior management level
* Proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail
* A "doer" mindset and entrepreneurial approach
* Familiarity with supply chain planning or management software is a plus
* Fluent in English & Italian, both spoken and written
This position is based at our HQ in Milan, Italy with the possibility of a mix of office/ remote working. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to work remotely from an EU time zone with periodic travel to our HQ.
