Summary\nThis position is located in the Bowling Section of the Business Activities Branch, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Air Station (NAS) Sigonella, Italy. The purpose of this position is to plan and carry out a comprehensive bowling program to meet the needs of eligible patrons.

Personnel Management

- Supervises approximately six employees (Local Nationals and US) performing duties in beverage service, bowling equipment repair, retail sales, lane and shoe rental, customer service and cash handling.
\n
- Performs supervisory duties which includes assigning work, defining priorities, selecting and recommending applicants for hire, instructing employees on both technical and administrative matters, evaluating performance, recommending pay adjustments and awards, providing or recommending training, approving and/or disapproving leave requests, initiating corrective actions, and recommending formal corrective/disciplinary actions as warranted. Supervises day-to-day operation of bowling program.

\nProgram Management \n
- The incumbent is responsible for the general management, administration and promotion of a 10 lane bowling center, snack bar including alcohol service, a slot/ amusement machine program and recreational bowling leagues, special events and programs.
\n
- Plans, programs, promotes and executes a broad based bowling program comprised of special events, leagues, tournaments, open bowling, parties and other activities designed to maximize participation in accordance with CNIC program standards. Promotes events and programs by speaking to groups of people and using administrative resources to create and post advertising materials, as well as provide input for the monthly newsletter and a variety of print and digital media.

- Orders, receives and maintains appropriate levels of snack and beverage inventories to ensure that products are always in supply.
\n
\nFinancial Management\n\n
- Develops and justifies annual budget for the bowling facility. Monitors budget execution. Analyzes financial statements, investigates variances and makes adjustments as necessary.
\n
- Conducts and maintains inventory including bowling machine maintenance parts and snack bar resale items.
\n
- Identifies sources and requests purchases for facility supplies, services and other expenses.
\n
- Maintains records and is accountable for the overall profit and loss of all bowling center operations.
\n
\nFacility Management\n\n
- Schedules preventative maintenance of pinsetter equipment and all automated scoring and operational systems.
\n
- Orders parts, supplies and equipment as required. Schedules annual lane certification to comply with America Bowling Congress (ABC) standards.
\n
- Identifies facility and non-bowling equipment deficiencies and arranges for repair or maintenance actions.
\n
\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\n

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
\n
- Must attend Alcohol Server training and maintain certification.
\n
- Work requires standing, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 25 pounds.
\n
- May be required to work nights, weekends and additional hours during tournaments and special events.
\n
- Must satisfactorily complete a background investigation.
\n
- Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
\n
- Male candidates born after December 31, 1959, and at least 18 years of age, are required to certify that they have registered with the Selective Service System (Attach proof of registration).

\nQualifications\nThree (3) years of general experience, one (1) year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4/NF-2,\nOR\na 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in any field\n
OR\na Combination Of Required Experience And Education.\nGeneral Experience\nis experience gained in an administrative responsible work that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions, plan and organize work, communicate effectively orally and in writing, leading or supervising others.
