Michael Page Responsibilities:In this function, you are responsible for the full technical management of a certain number of vessels assigned to you, and you are expected to perform the following duties: adequately supporting the vessels by composing and maintaining procedures and instructions as such that the activities on board will be planned and carried out in a safe and effective manner; visiting the vessels on a regular basis and performing internal technical audits; ensuring performance of preventative and corrective maintenance to the vessels in a cost effective manner; executing repairs and dry dockings in accordance with the maintenance plan and the vessels' policy; preparing and monitoring the technical Budget; cooperating with purchasing department, ensuring goods and services are sourced with the lowest cost of ownership and in-adherence with set quality standards and budget settings; preparing damage claims including timely reporting to the insurance companies so that a satisfactory financial settlement can be reached; ensuring adequate follow up of port state control and vetting inspections. ensuring that vessels' documentation in the office as well as computer databases are properly maintained and up to date.You work in a team with a Crewing Officer and a Purchaser, and report to the Regional Technical Manager. Requirements:A Higher Nautical or Technical Education diploma; A minimum of two-three years' relevant experience as Chief Engineer/First Engineer or in ship repair/ship management; Strong planning and problem-solving skills; Willingness to travel frequently and ability to work well under pressure; Knowledge of the Italian flag and flag administration system would be an advantage; Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English and Italian are essential.Location: Genoa (Italy) Multinational company operating in Oil & Gas industry Ottima opportunità di carriera.
