Workplace:HQ Buttrio (UD) Responsibilities: The purpose of the Piping Design Engineer is to study piping systems within industrial plants (e.g., steelworks, rolling mills). Piping design activities, both basic and detailed, are carried out within a workgroup, coordinated by the Team Leader, and in collaboration with other teams (layout/civil engineers, electrical/instrumentation) within the product line, as well as other company departments (firefighting and HVAC specialists, process office, mechanical office, purchasing office). Main responsibilities: - Development of 2D and 3D engineering using company software (AVEVA E3D) - Coordination with reference project engineers from other interfacing disciplines such as mechanical, fluid, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, and firefighting - Proposing solutions, improvements, and optimizations to enhance engineering quality - Developing the plant Linelist, defining design pressures, test pressures, and design temperatures - Selecting and defining pipe thicknesses and materials (pipe classes) based on fluid conditions - Developing piping route studies to support plant layout and basic civil design activities - Defining pipe support systems based on loads, fluid types, materials, and fluid conditions - Preparing data sheets for the purchase of piping bulk materials (pipes, fittings, valves, accessories) - Reading and evaluating technical specifications and equipment data sheets (pumps, exchangers, etc.) - Drafting specifications for the request to develop detailed piping engineering by subsidiaries or external firms Technical Requirements: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technical Diploma (Industrial Technician/Surveyor) - Knowledge and use of 2D CAD design software (Autodesk AutoCAD) and 3D software (Aveva E3D, Navisworks ) - Preferred: knowledge and use of Puma software (pipe class definition, material take-off, generation of grouped bills of materials for piping procurement) - Knowledge and use of spreadsheets/software for calculating pressure drops in piping systems - Good understanding of concepts related to thermotechnical plant design, fluid machinery, and construction - Proficiency in English Soft Skills: - Proactiveness and decision-making attitude - Flexibility and determination - Problem-solving skills - Excellent organizational and teamwork abilities - Precision and attention to detail - Willingness to travel for short periods, both nationally and internationally
