Deepfield Senior Systems Software Engineer

Responsibilities
Own new solutions from prototyping through deployment
Automate all the things
Work closely with other groups to diagnose, solve, and prevent system problems
Provide subject matter expertise during design sessions and technical reviews
Support and foster cross team communication with a focus on resolving issues with a sense of urgency
Participate in a Pager Duty rotation to support what you build
Key Skills And Experience
You have:
Demonstrable expertise with Linux systems (you adore the command line!).
Git and day to day git from the shell.
Experience with one or more configuration management platforms, such as SaltStack, Chef, Puppet, etc.
Python and shell scripting experience
It would also be nice if you had:
Experience in a SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) role
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions)
Performance tuning experience (Linux, Postgres, etc)
Interest and/or experience with cloud providers and technologies (AWS, GCP and Terraform)
Networking knowledge (UDP/TCP/IP, IPSEC, IPv4, IPv6, BGP)
Software packaging and distribution experience (building debians/rpms or other software distribution mechanisms)
Experience in troubleshooting large-scale complex systems from a reliability and scalability perspective
Familiarity with principles and practices of infrastructure and application monitoring
