Job Description:
Our client, a growing player in the European renewable energy space, is seeking an experienced Senior Development Manager to help drive the delivery of large-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the continent.
This is a key position for a commercially minded project leader with deep knowledge of the renewables sector. The role is remote in Italy, with travel to manage partners, projects, and stakeholders.
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for leading renewable energy projects from initial opportunity through to construction readiness. Key responsibilities include:
* Sourcing and evaluating new project opportunities across wind, solar, and storage
* Driving progress across all phases of project development, including permitting, land access, and grid connection
* Managing relationships with joint venture partners, local authorities, and external consultants
* Overseeing project timelines, budgets, and risk assessments to ensure successful delivery
* Maintaining up-to-date records, maps, and reporting tools for project tracking
* Supporting commercial strategy and market analysis
* Contributing to the development of best-practice processes across multiple jurisdictions
* Assisting with technical and commercial due diligence for potential acquisitions
* Collaborating with internal teams during engineering, procurement, and construction stages
What We're Looking For:
* 8–10+ years' experience in renewable energy development, ideally with utility-scale wind, solar, or storage projects
* Solid knowledge of land, permitting, and interconnection processes
* Proven ability to manage cross-border projects and third-party relationships
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Proficiency in English and Italian; knowledge of additional European languages is an advantage
* Must be based in Italy and able to travel regularly within Europe
Why Apply?
This is a rare chance to join a well-funded, forward-thinking organisation with ambitious growth plans. You'll play a hands-on role in delivering impactful projects and shaping the clean energy future across Europe.
