Overview
Postdoc in RNA and Immunology at BRIC
We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic postdoc for a two year position, who is expected to commence in January 2026.
The project is to be conducted in the laboratory of Professor Cristian Bellodi at the Biotech Research and Innovation Centre (BRIC), University of Copenhagen.
Research focus
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow interested in elucidating how dysregulation of RNA modifications impacts normal and malignant hematopoiesis.
The successful candidate will have access to genetic models and state-of-the-art technologies, including advanced biochemistry, next-generation sequencing, single-cell approaches, and proteomics, to dissect RNA modification–dependent pathways in the immune system at high resolution.
Responsibilities
Define how RNA modifications regulate blood stem cells and lineage commitment
Uncover RNA epitranscriptomic pathways driving immunity and leukemic transformation
Explore transcriptome and translatome changes in stem cells under stress
Optimize cutting-edge molecular profiling approaches to study hematopoietic populations
Profile / Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience.
Essential Experience And Skills
PhD in Immunology, Microbiology or Molecular Biology (preferably
less than two years
post-PhD)
Strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry (e.g., RNA/DNA isolation, cloning, gene silencing, CRISPR gene editing, etc.)
Hands-on experience with mouse genetics (handling, breeding, dissection, transplantation, etc.) and hematopoietic stem cell culture (murine and human)
Expertise with advanced flow cytometry and single cell analysis
Active interest in transcriptome-wide approaches to study RNA (e.g., CLIP-seq, ribosome profiling, single cell RNA-seq, PRAISE, Nanopore, etc.)
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in teams
Proficiency in written and spoken English
Desirable Experience And Skills
Experience with genome-wide gene-editing and drug screening approaches
Experience in quantitative proteomics and advanced microscopy methods
Hands-on experience with viral preparation and infection systems
Experience in bioinformatics, including programming in R, Python, and/or Bash, plus familiarity with statistical analysis and high-throughput sequencing data pipelines
Documented experience in scientific writing, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, fellowships, and/or prizes

Terms of employment
The position is a fixed-term contract for two years, with a starting date of January 1, 2026 or after agreement.
The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff and by the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
