Job Title: Staff AI Engineer
We are working with a Zurich-based start-up that has built an AI platform designed to improve engagement, performance, and retention across organisations. The platform enables continuous, real time feedback, replacing traditional static review cycles. It brings together engagement tracking, performance reviews, 360 feedback, and development into a single system. AI is central to the product. It is used to analyse sentiment, detect anomalies, forecast trends, and generate insights for leadership teams. The platform also includes a chat based AI coach, powered by agentic systems already deployed in production.
Overview
This role exists to take full ownership of the company's agentic AI platform as it scales. The system has been built in a fast, iterative way. As adoption increases, the focus is now on improving reliability, consistency, and quality of outputs in production. This is a hands on Staff level IC role, with end to end ownership of AI systems and strong influence on technical direction.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture of the agentic AI platform
- Design and improve LLM driven agents and workflows
- Define and implement evaluation frameworks for output quality
- Build monitoring, observability, and safety layers
- Improve reliability and performance of AI systems in production
- Collaborate closely with product to ship high impact improvements
- Set technical standards and act as the AI reference point
Profile
- Strong experience building production AI or ML systems end to end
- Hands on experience with LLMs, RAG, or agent based systems
- Experience with evaluation, monitoring, and system reliability
- Comfortable working in fast moving, product focused environments
- Strong engineering fundamentals and system design capability
