Overview The IT Technician's role encompasses the daily technical support and management of IT resources, focusing on end-user satisfaction, troubleshooting, and system maintenance. This position is pivotal in maintaining the organization's IT environment. Responsibilities End-User Support: Provide technical assistance and prompt troubleshooting to end-users for hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal disruption to their work. Hardware Maintenance: Maintain, repair, and upgrade desktops, laptops, peripherals, and other hardware equipment as needed. Software Support: Install, configure, and update software applications, ensuring proper functionality. Network Assistance: Assist in network configuration and maintenance, resolving connectivity issues. Cybersecurity Measures: Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures, including access controls and antivirus software. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory, configurations, and support requests. Ticketing System Management: Use the IT ticketing system to efficiently track, prioritize, and resolve technical issues. Basic System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates and patches. Requirements Proficiency in desktop and server operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.). Basic knowledge of network protocols and configurations. Hardware troubleshooting and maintenance skills. Familiarity with software installation, configuration, and updates. Understanding of cybersecurity best practices. Good level of written English proficiency; strong oral communication skills would be a plus. Availability to travel to neighbouring plants.
