To continue success and growth, the role requires high-quality, differentiated, and competitive tenders leveraging Alstom’s global capabilities.This senior role is critical for the success of the RS business, aiming to improve tender outcomes and return on tendering investment. The Bid Manager is a key contributor to delivering SSI orders, sales, and margin results.The Bid Manager is responsible for:Managing tender costs within budgetDeveloping solutions that meet customer requirements at a competitive priceEnsuring Alstom’s margin commitments are achievedDelivering high-quality tender submissionsImplementing opportunity capture plans and win strategiesDelivering timely, scoped proposals with accurate QCD commitments within tender budgetsThe role reports to the Head of Tendering and manages all aspects of tender preparation, governance, and collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to deliver competitive and compelling tenders.Person SpecificationIdeal candidates will have significant experience, a successful track record in rail pursuits, and strong relationships within the industry. Experience with Network Rail, New Engineering Contracts, and stakeholder management is highly desirable. The candidate should be action-oriented, driven, and possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with high integrity.Educational RequirementsBachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Business, or equivalent experience. Proven experience in large-scale, complex tenders, project management, and bid writing. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools like Salesforce are essential. Knowledge of signalling, systems, and infrastructure contracts is preferred.Desired Knowledge / ExperienceKnowledge of Alstom products, team leadership in matrix organizations, public procurement, international collaboration, and a results-driven attitude.
