RINA is currently recruiting for a Software Embedded System Engineer to join its office in Rome within the Digital Technology and Cybersecurity Division. Mission RINA is looking for a software embedded engineer to participate in and supervise software development activities within internal projects. In particular, this position focuses on designing, developing, and verifying embedded software for avionics systems. We are seeking a technical leader who is able to : Collaborate with hardware engineers, system architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that RINA avionics systems meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. Coordinate team activities and mentor junior members. You should have a strong understanding and experience in real-time embedded systems, software development, and system integration. Key Accountabilities Here are the skills we are looking for : Software development : Design and implement embedded software applications for avionics systems. Develop software in compliance with DO-178C or similar safety-critical standards. Implement software requirements and design applications. Integrate software into target equipment. System design : Participate in defining system architecture and software requirements. Work with system engineers to allocate requirements to software components. Conduct trade-off analysis to determine the best solution. System integration : Debug embedded software on target equipment. Support V&V team during testing and validation activities for defect analysis. Resolve detected issues by implementing necessary corrections. Documentation : Prepare and maintain software documentation according to company and industry standards. Generate reports and documentation for regulatory compliance. Collaboration and communication : Work closely with hardware engineers for seamless integration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and optimize system performance. Communicate effectively with stakeholders about status and technical assessments. Continuous improvement : Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in avionic software. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the software development lifecycle. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience. Proficiency in design calculations, drafting, and engineering software. Strong understanding of technical documentation and project management processes. Ability to review and interpret technical documents and designs effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in field data collection and willingness to engage in fieldwork activities. Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure. Commitment to safety standards and protocols. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
