This role is critical in ensuring that supplied components and materials meet quality standards without disrupting production. The SQE acts as the first line of defense in identifying, containing, and resolving supplier-related quality issues swiftly and effectively.
Responsibilities
* Lead immediate containment actions for non-conforming supplier materials.
* Coordinate with production, quality, and logistics teams to minimize disruption.
* Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
* Monitor supplier performance and collaborate with the SQM to improve overall quality.
* Utilize tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and FMEA to resolve quality issues.
* Analyze trends in supplier defects and initiate improvement plans.
* Maintain records of quality issues, investigations, and resolutions.
* Prepare and present reports on supplier quality performance.
* Work closely with procurement, engineering, production, and QA teams to align on quality expectations.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field.
* 3+ years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing quality engineering.
* Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, RCA, CAPA).
* Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; experience in a medical environment is a plus.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
* Hands-on mindset with strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
Preferred Skills
* Root cause and trend analysis
* Experience with ERP and QMS systems
* Familiarity with automotive, electronics, and medical device industry standards
