Job Description
Location: Flexible Madrid, Valencia, or Milan
The HSSE Manager Wind, reporting to the HSSE Manager Southern Europe, supports the business by leading the wind portfolio in Spain and Italy. The HSSE Manager is responsible for managing Health, Safety, Security & Environment during the planning and construction phases of projects, in accordance with the Health and Safety Management System, applicable requirements, procedures (country-specific and Statkraft-specific), and best practice documents, with support from a dedicated team.
The responsibilities of the HSSE Manager on behalf of the project include, but are not limited to:
* Establishing and leading the project's HSSE work process throughout the entire project lifecycle, from development to construction and operation.
* Analyzing project needs during early development stages and ensuring they are considered during the design phase.
* Working proactively with engineering and development teams to find cost-effective solutions and resolve issues during feasibility assessments.
* Developing activities and plans to monitor HSSE activities, supporting the overall HSSE Program, including audits, inspections, reviews, risk assessments, and other HSSE evaluations.
* Promoting an HSSE culture aligned with Statkraft’s leadership ambitions and values, defining and implementing site-specific HSSE programs and plans.
* Providing coaching and assistance to site teams regarding the implementation of Statkraft HSSE standards, statutory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
* Ensuring HSSE compliance of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors at the site, supported by the Site Management Team.
* Planning and executing HSSE training, motivation, and competency development programs for site personnel, ensuring training programs are implemented effectively.
* Providing monthly HSSE management reports as required by line management.
* Ensuring the implementation of the approved H&S Management Plan by contractors and their subcontractors.
* Ensuring contractors and suppliers provide all necessary information for internal HSSE reporting and analysis.
* Implementing and monitoring the project environmental plan.
* Supporting environmental, climate, social, and human rights processes through measures, plans, quality assurance, monitoring, and reporting.
Additional activities may include:
* Reporting progress and compliance with KPIs systematically and in accordance with requirements.
* Ensuring audit programs are in place.
* Investigating and following up on accidents and incidents per Statkraft requirements.
* Coordinating the HSSE team with other project functions such as engineering, construction, procurement, and document control.
Qualifications
* Engineering degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical disciplines.
* Specific HSSE qualification compliant with Spanish/Italian law, including occupational health, safety, security, and environment (e.g., risk prevention management).
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in wind farm project development and construction, including planning and coordination of special transports.
* Previous experience with HV projects (substations and/or transmission lines), pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
* Excellent knowledge of local HSSE legislation.
* Extensive experience in HSSE management.
* Wide knowledge of high-risk construction activities, focusing on lifting, groundworks, work at height, confined spaces, energized systems, transportation, heavy mobile equipment, and driving.
* Native speaker of the country where applying, with fluency in English mandatory.
* Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
