Rail Network Planner: Trieste, Via degli Alti Forni snc. HHLA PLT Italy S.r.l. Purpose of the job The Rail Network Planner plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient rail operations. He/She will be the focal point between rail stakeholders (Train Operators, customers) and internal PLT (Planning & Execution, commercial) bodies. The RNP will ensure communication flow related to rail schedule activities is consistent and robust; all trains physical operations are documented, KPI maintained, pre-billing timely transferred to accountant department. Summary of responsibilities: - Consolidate information from train operators, landside / quayside customers regarding train schedules, volume to be discharge / load on planning side and all occurred events “statement of facts” during execution of operations - Coordinate with rail operators and stakeholders to ensure efficient use of the PLT rail inner and outer tracks - Develop and maintain rail network diagrams, schedules, and related documentation - Monitor and analyze rail network performance and identify areas for improvement - Keep the Shift Leader informed about any problems that could affect the train arrival / departures, ensuring corrective action that can be taken within timescales - Discuss with Operations Manager and organize the daily train game plan - Work closely with the operations team to ensure efficient execution of rail schedules. - Track and monitor all data / volumes related to Train operations and issue KPIs as required Education & Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a related field - 3-5 years of experience in rail operations Technical Skills & Knowledge Required: - Proven experience as a Rail Network Planner or similar role - Strong knowledge of rail operations and regulations - Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities - Strong communication and negotiation skills - Proficiency in relevant software such as GIS and scheduling tools - Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Behavioral Competences Required: - Analytical skills - Proactiveness Language Requirements: - Fluent spoken and written Italian is a must. - Fluent spoken and written English is a must This job description may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of the Employer.
