The Department of Physics at the University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy) welcomes expressions of interest for an academic position covered through a \"Direct Call\" procedure.
The Direct Calls program of the Italian Ministry of Research (MUR) provides opportunities to fund academic positions for scientists and scholars to move to Italy who are employed in universities or research centres abroad and have been for at least three years with an equivalent position.

Preferred ExperienceExpressions of interest must be sent by 5th July 2026 to . Candidates must send a curriculum vitae, a list of publications and a statement of research interests. Expressions of interest will be reviewed by a Search Committee and will reduce the number of applicants to a maximum of two within 60 days after the deadline. Selected candidates will be invited to a meeting with the Director and, after a seminar, the Search Committee will propose one candidate for the Direct Call.
Recruitment ProcessThe recruitment process involves several approval steps and requires the endorsement of the Ministry of Research. The procedure is expected to be completed within about one year from the decision of the Department.
Additional InformationFor successful candidates holding academic positions abroad, there might be tax benefits such as a tax relief on 90% of the salary for up to six years.
