- Tech-Savvy: Understanding of privacy-enhancing technologies, security measures, and process automation. Experience with Privacy Management Software (e.g., OneTrust) is a plus.
- Excellent Communicator: Ability to present and influence at all levels, from operational teams to senior leadership.
- Fluent in English (French\/German\/Italian is a plus).
- Privacy Certifications (CIPP\/E, CIPM, CIPT) are highly desirable. **Lead & Implement Privacy Strategies**: - Support the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in driving MSC Cruises’ Global Privacy Program, ensuring alignment with GDPR and international data protection laws.
- Take charge of privacy projects from start to finish—from planning to execution—balancing scope, budget, and strict deadlines.
- Challenge the status quo—drive privacy accountability and elevate compliance standards across the organization. **Operational Excellence & Risk Mitigation**: - Conduct privacy risk assessments, identifying opportunities for stronger data protection measures.
- Oversee and audit privacy operations, ensuring compliance with GDPR, local privacy laws, and internal policies.
- Perform benchmarking & research, identifying best practices to enhance MSC Cruises’ privacy policies and procedures.
- Manage and enhance the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) and other key privacy documentation. **Collaboration & Advisory Role**: - Act as a trusted privacy advisor to business functions, guiding them on complex data protection matters.
- Negotiate data protection terms & contracts directly with vendors, ensuring robust privacy safeguards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Legal, Security, HR, and more) to embed privacy-first thinking into company processes. **Compliance & Incident Response**: - Ensure timely handling of Data Subject Rights (DSR) requests & data breaches, in line with global privacy regulations.
- Monitor emerging privacy laws & enforcement trends, advising leadership on strategic compliance adjustments.
- Support the team in preparing privacy policies, DPIAs, TIAs, privacy notices, and training materials. VISA REQUIREMENTS (if any)

Part of the MSC Group, MSC Cruises is the market leader in the Mediterranean, South Africa and South America, and sails year-round in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Its seasonal itineraries cover northern Europe, the Atlantic Ocean, South America, southern Africa, and the Persian/Arabian Gulf. MSC Cruises was born in the Mediterranean, and draws inspiration from this heritage to create a unique experience for holidaymakers worldwide. As a result of a euro 6.5 billions investment programme launched in 2003, MSC Cruises' fleet comprises 13 state-of-the-art cruise ships belonging to four different classes: Lirica, Musica, Fantasia and Meraviglia. The fleet's average age is 7 years, the youngest in the industry. In 2014, MSC Cruises launched a euro 9 billion, 10 year investment plan to support the second phase of its growth through the order of up to 11 next generation mega cruise ships. As a result, MSC Cruises' fleet will double by 2026, while the passenger capacity will triple to reach five million passengers per year. MSC Cruises is the first cruise company to develop an investment plan of this length and magnitude.
