Position
The position is responsible for developing concept studies and designs for steam turbine structural and rotor components until the industrialization.
Main responsibilities
1. Detail design of the statoric and rotor components (3D/2D) in term of raw/machining/special process. Definition of dimensional and NDT checks to request during production
2. Assembly design (3D/2D) with definition of the procedures
3. Bill of material creation using the information derived also from other departments/discipline (IT plan, material specification, NDT specifications);
4. Support the manufacturing production of the components and final engines assembly
5. Support site activities during plant erection and engine outage to fulfill engineering requirements defined during the design phase
Requirements
6. Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technical diploma with at least 3 years of experience in mechanical design;
7. Knowledge in mechanical design fundamentals, knowledge of mechanical machining, welding and machine tool;
8. Expertise on parametric CAD 2D/3D;
9. 1D mechanical integrity evaluations to define the “robust” design;
10. Knowledge on the main processes used to produce the raw materials of the components (casting, forge, welding);
11. Knowledge on the main machining process to produce the final components (turning, milling, broaching);
12. Knowledge on the technical drawing theories in term of isometric drawing, dimensioning, sectioning, assembly drawings, cross sectional views, geometrical/dimension tolerance, symbol (ISO), roughness;
13. Good knowledge of the English language spoken and written.
