The Associate Process Research Scientist addresses problems of technical complexity, engages with multifunctional teams to identify challenges, proposes innovative solutions, and develops Dow proprietary state-of-the-art technologies with significant business impact.
Responsibilities / Duties
1. Conduct research on assigned projects using scientific principles, theory, and experimental design within a scientific discipline.
2. Develop and implement technical solutions through hands-on experimentation and problem-solving for well-defined research problems within a project area.
3. Generate sound research data, interpret results, and handle data appropriately.
4. Demonstrate expertise in experimental, computational, and theoretical methods.
5. Participate in the innovation process related to specific projects and contribute to identifying new opportunities.
6. Apply the Scientific Method in planning and executing experiments and problem-solving. Formulate hypotheses and develop experimental plans. Utilize Six Sigma tools to solve complex problems.
7. Communicate and document work through internal reports and presentations. Draft and submit patent disclosures as appropriate.
8. Provide constructive input to project team members.
Education
* Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related science field required.
* Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
* Master's degree or PhD preferred.
