Key job responsibilities
* Monitor and troubleshoot main systems.
* Collaborate with the European control network to monitor machinery metrics.
* Provide data visualizations to stakeholders.
* Participate in continuous improvement projects.
* Work with various departments to document systems and manage backups.
* Install and commission new equipment with global colleagues.
* Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to improve system compliance with IEC 61131-3 standards.
A day in the life
As an Automation Engineer, you will oversee automated systems, troubleshoot errors, and implement solutions. You will also train and support your team to ensure optimal system performance.
Basic Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Extensive experience with PLC-based control systems and diagnostics.
* Experience with conveyor systems and material handling.
* Knowledge of material flow visualization and monitoring.
* Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Office, EPLAN, Ladder Logic, Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Codesys PLCs, Ignition SCADA, EthernetIP, Profinet, Profibus, AS-i, VFDs, safety gateways, and I/O devices.
* Fluent in English and Italian, spoken and written.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications include a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields; experience with ISO 13849 and ISO 62061; working in multi-site environments; project management experience with Agile and Waterfall; and familiarity with Six Sigma and data analysis.
