OverviewThe Information Technology Division (CIO) is responsible for all IT activities within the Organization. CIO performs on behalf of the Organization the following critical roles: defining FAO IT policies and providing strategic advice on IT architecture and standards, governance, policy and operational matters while monitoring organizational compliance; defining the mechanisms for managing FAO's information and data; protecting FAO's information assets and ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability; ensuring provision of IT services that are core for the Organization's global operations and supporting the information and business processes; coordinating organization-wide IT activities in order to reduce duplication and fragmentation and to increase integration of information data, systems and platforms, mobilizing IT resources from across the Organization.The role sits within the Enterprise Architecture Office under the IT Strategy and Governance stream, supporting the definition of target architectures, roadmaps, and technical standards. The Office guides solution design, conducts architecture impact assessments, provides design authority oversight, and advises on strategies across business, data, application, and technology domains. The position also contributes to governance forums, IT Risk management, supports cloud risk assessment processes, and helps ensure architectural alignment across major initiatives.ResponsibilitiesSupport core services provided by EA Office: triage of requested IT solutions, high level solution design, cloud computing risk assessment, etc.Maintain enterprise IT Risk Register, and monitor compliance.Contribute to the creation, review, and maintenance of IT governance policy documents, ensuring they align with enterprise architecture standards and regulatory expectations.Participate in IT governance forums.Maintain and enhance FAO Digital Capability Repository (EA Knowledge Base /Application Landscape).Perform business analysis and business architecture modelling.Create and update principles, patterns, reference architectures, and documentationProvide architectural assessments for specific IT initiatives and projects.Perform any other Enterprise Architecture and IT Governance activities as required.Qualifications and Selection CriteriaAdvanced university degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in Computer Science, Information systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering or closely related discipline.
