As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are looking for a dynamic Business System Engineer. Position Overview: The Business System Engineer is the strategic interface between Engineering, Production/AIT, and Business Development. This role ensures that commercial opportunities are translated into technically robust, industrially feasible, and economically sustainable solutions, with a strong focus on manufacturability, integration complexity, and test requirements. This position requires a solid understanding of satellite systems combined with industrial cost awareness and commercial sensitivity. Key Responsibilities: Proposal & Bid Management Lead the technical coordination of bids (RFI, RFQ, ITT). Translate customer mission requirements into preliminary system architectures. Define compliant and competitive technical baselines aligned with internal AIT capabilities. Support cost estimation (NRE and recurring costs), including production and testing activities. Identify technical and industrial risks during bid phase. Engineering–Production Alignment Ensure proposed solutions are compatible with: Assembly flows Integration sequences Cleanroom capacity and tooling Environmental test facilities (TVAC, vibration, EMC, shock) Promote Design-to-Cost, Design-for-Assembly (DFA), and Design-for-Test (DFT) principles during proposal definition. Support Make-or-Buy strategy definition. Industrial & Cost Engineering Develop cost models for small satellite platforms (50–500 kg). Analyze recurring production costs and scalability scenarios. Assess integration complexity and associated labor/test effort. Monitor margin drivers and industrial constraints. Customer & Stakeholder Interface Participate in technical discussions with institutional and commercial customers. Support contract negotiations on scope, deliverables, and verification approach. Coordinate with Systems Engineering, AIT, Supply Chain, and Finance. Contribute to long-term product roadmap evolution. Requirements Required Qualifications Master’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of experience in the space sector or complex system environments. Direct experience with satellite systems in the 50–500 kg class. Exposure to Assembly, Integration & Testing processes. Experience in proposal preparation and technical cost estimation. Strong system-level understanding of satellite subsystems. Fluent in English. Preferred Qualifications Experience in institutional programs (e.g., ESA or similar agencies). Background in industrial production environments. Knowledge of ECSS standards. MBA or additional business/financial education is a plus. Experience in New Space or fast-paced commercial contexts.
