The End-to-End Navigation System department of Thales Alenia Space in Italy seeks a Navigation System Engineer who will report directly to the Head of Department. The responsibilities include:
* Supporting the execution of programs like GALILEO, Moonlight, LEO PNTIod.
* Contributing to new business opportunities.
* Fostering R&D activities in satellite navigation.
Location: Rome.
Role as a Thales System Engineer:
As a System Engineer at Thales, you will:
* Analyze customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes.
* Formalize specifications and architecture to propose optimal solutions.
* Prepare and execute integration, verification, and validation tests.
* Define test plans and procedures for system-level testing.
* Ensure technical coherence of system design, interfaces, and performance.
* Design the architecture of command and control systems.
* Demonstrate solutions to clients.
Additionally, you will:
* Support growth initiatives within the engineering department.
* Contribute to R&D through new studies.
* Coordinate with universities for thesis, internships, etc.
* Participate in international meetings and conferences worldwide.
Language requirement: Fluent English, spoken and written.
Competencies:
* A master’s degree in electronics, telecommunications, computer science, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
* Knowledge of basic telecommunication principles.
* Familiarity with System Engineering Tools (e.g., MBSE, Requirement Management, Simulation Tools, Matlab).
* At least 5 years of experience in Satellite Navigation and/or Communication Systems.
* Experience leading engineering projects or activities.
* Ability to adapt to change.
* Strong teamwork, problem-solving skills, proactivity, and innovative mindset.
