The RoleFor our Private Client and Tax team in Milan, we are seeking a well-organised and driven Trainee Lawyer (Praticante Avvocato).
Key elements of the role include supporting senior colleagues on private client matters, conducting legal research, drafting memos, assisting with client events, and providing high-quality work promptly. You will also help with business development activities, manage documents, organise meetings and communications, and ensure AML and Know Your Client (KYC) requirements are adhered to. There is also the opportunity to support the Global Mobility team with visa/residence permit procedures and Italian citizenship requests.
Key Elements Of The Role Include
Conducting legal research
Drafting legal memos
Helping with business development activities, supporting the preparation of pitches and tenders
Managing, reviewing and analysing documents
Organising meetings, taking calls, taking messages, managing emails, and other forms of proactive and efficient communication with clients, legal staff, and other support staff
Assisting with client events
Producing accurate, high-quality work quickly and efficiently, utilising the firm's software packages and document management systems
Preparing first drafts of terms of engagement letters; collecting necessary KYC documentation and ensuring AML requirements are met
Other general administrative tasks
Key Skills And Experience
Graduate in Law (graduated in Italy and eligible to be a Praticante Avvocato)
Outstanding academic record (at least 102/110)
Fluency in both Italian and English (C1 level of English is required)
Demonstrated interest in, or prior experience with, private international law; a postgraduate master’s degree in the field is considered a nice to have
An interest in tax planning and domestic/international taxation matters is considered a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Enthusiastic and engaged attitude with excellent people skills and a clear communication style
Strong research abilities
Teamwork is essential and you will frequently collaborate with colleagues in our overseas offices
Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
