Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. Logistics Specialists monitor inventory levels to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained to support build and repair activities. They receive parts, maintain inventory, and check-out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers. They are responsible for loading and unloading shipments and transporting parts between different locations. This position involves frequent lifting of materials and products. Logistics Specialists are required to keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company. We are seeking candidates who possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a commitment to Safety & Operational Excellence.
Key job responsibilities
Reviewing Data Center inventory, inbound shipments, and ongoing demand to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained in all locations to support build and repair activities.
Working with the Logistics Manager to create plans to optimize the flow of parts through their lifecycle; tracking inventory location, movement, age, and turns.
Working closely with Data Center Operations Technicians and Data Center Engineers to fulfill parts quickly and accurately.
Collaborating with Procurement and Hardware Engineering to purchase new parts and interface directly with vendors to process RMAs and receive replacements.
You will be responsible for the data entry and resolving questions from peer organizations.
Maintaining up-to-date metrics dashboards and create reports for internal and external suppliers and management as required.
Assembling, addressing, stamping and arranging for the shipment of merchandise and materials.
Assisting in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from production locations.
Keeping precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company.
Safety
Logistics Specialists are expected to understand all aspects of production, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain very high levels of quality.
Physical requirements
Manual handling and lifting of equipment required (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
Handling incoming shipments, unpack boxes and verify contents
Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions
Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Experience as a logistics professional supporting inventory cycle counts, shipments, maintenance and stock control functions.
Fluency in English
(EU) driving license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with logistics equipment (carts, pallet jacks)
Previous logistics / warehouse experience
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
