Our customers include governments, institutions, space agencies, telecommunications operators, ensuring Space to Connect, Secure Defend, Observe Protect, Explore, Travel Navigate. /p pWe are looking for a Ground Segment Engineer. /p h3CANDIDATES THAT WOULD IMPRESS US /h3 h3Experience / Competences /h3 ul liMaster’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Aeronautical/Space Engineering, Computer Science, …) or equivalent; /li liWorking heritage on earth observation ground segment systems; /li liKnowledge of: ul lisystem‑engineering processes for requirements and solution design management; /li liEO mission programming schemes (user request management and mission planning) and typical mission constraints; /li liControl segment main functions (flight dynamics, spacecraft control); /li liGround Stations (S‑Band, X‑Band) main functions; /li liProduction management main functions (SAR processing orchestration); /li liRADAR principles; /li liOptical principles, optical mission planning and image processing (welcome); /li /ul /li liKnowledge of artificial intelligence, Big Data, and deep learning techniques; /li liExperience in programming languages (Python / C++); /li liKnowledge of microservices SW design, DevOps methodology and cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.); /li liFluent English, spoken and written; /li liTeam‑working attitude; /li liProactive attitude to problem solving and interest in innovative technologies; /li liAvailability to travel. /li /ul h3Main Role (Ground Segment Engineering and Architectures) /h3 ul liAnalysis of input documentation at system level (e.g. system / product / space‑to‑ground interface requirements, system operational concept, system architecture); /li liDefinition of requirements at Ground Segment and subsystem level, ensuring proper flow‑down and traceability; maintain the requirements baseline (through DOORS, Polarion); /li liAnalysis and trade‑offs among different design solutions, in particular for large satellites constellation management solutions in a multi‑mission environment; /li liDetailed definition of overall GS architecture and building blocks, and relevant external / internal interfaces; /li liDevelopment of Mission Planning components and ground segment mission‑specific elements for different EO missions, including architectural design, algorithms prototyping and testing activities; /li liContribute to GS data budget analysis for GS sizing; /li liContribute to the consolidation of the Ground Segment Baseline documentation (ADD, ICD, requirements baseline, DVCM); /li liSupport Ground Segment integration and verification activities at different levels; /li liContribute to the definition of ground segment innovative solutions to improve GS products competitiveness; /li liParticipate to technical meeting (internal and with customer). /li /ul h3YOUR CAREER AT THALES /h3 pFuture opportunities will allow you to discover other domains or sites.
