Overview
In this role you have the opportunity to make a substantial contribution to the innovation of the iconic Gaggia espresso coffee machines, developing parts and elements, using the latest technologies and resources, implementing the Gaggia Household Espresso Innovation Roadmap, bringing to our enthusiastic consumers meaningful innovative coffee machines with adequate quality level, and taking care of them through all the phases from development to industrialization and lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
* Mechanical development of assigned projects/products/components, reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Team Lead of Gaggia.
* Design, verification, optimization, realization, integration, life-cycle management, and validation of components and systems for espresso coffee machines.
* Development of high-level and detailed designs in accordance with product requirements, with a focus on user needs and business objectives.
* Finalize the design and integration, and prepare verification plans for developed components, in collaboration and dialogue with the factory and suppliers.
* Test, analyze, and validate the design quality, supporting industrialization activities to ensure on-time production launch in compliance with quality, cost, and regulatory targets.
* Provide input to the project manager during planning phases, define specific project needs (resources, budget, etc.), and report on personal progress in a structured and methodical manner.
Qualifications
* Technical degree or high school diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* At least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in coffee machines development
* Good level knowledge of project management, quality process management, and financial understanding (for budget, investments estimate, product costing, etc.)
* Strong expertise in CAD 3D (NX preferably)
* Basic knowledge of regulatory aspects and processes related to product certification
* Italian native speaker; fluent English
* Ability to define and propose solutions to technical issues
* Can-do attitude, with ability to stimulate decision-making and priorities assessment, even with limited information
* Good ability to communicate and collaborate with others, being a strong team player within I&D, and facilitating interaction with Procurement, Factory, Q&R, and Suppliers
