Ph3Overview /h3pAmazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon seeks a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to join the Antenna Team. As an RF engineer you will develop requirements, review designs and build test capability for WiFi, GNSS and Bluetooth subsystems. In this role you will influence decision makers on the process, procedures and necessary tests required to achieve optimized RF designs. You will execute tests and provide leadership for other engineers and technicians during test campaigns. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliPerform link budget analysis, select appropriate RF ICs and passive components, review and optimize PCB schematics and layouts. /liliUse specialized test equipment to validate RF performance from the sub‑component to the system level. /liliValidate RF performance and troubleshoot RF issues from the sub‑component to the system level. /liliCollaborate with verification and validation engineers to create test plans that thoroughly validate designs and efficiently address system integration challenges. /liliWork cross‑functionally with other engineers to meet challenging form factor and industrial design requirements while preventing unintentional radiators from negatively impacting RF receiver sensitivity. /liliCollaborate with manufacturing test and operations teams to review RF test fixture design and setup so that device RF performance can be tested efficiently to the correct specifications at the factory. /li /ulh3Export Control Requirement /h3pDue to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, a U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. /ph3Basic Qualifications /h3ulliBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. /lili3+ years of experience in board‑level design, component selection, and prototyping for high‑volume, cost‑optimized consumer electronics. /lili3+ years of experience designing, testing, and debugging RF sub‑systems for GNSS, WiFi router/access point and Bluetooth applications. /liliExperience with schematic capture and PCB layout software tools (preferably Cadence tools). /liliExperience with system integration risks and challenges posed by wireless technologies such as WiFi, GNSS, Bluetooth, and IEEE 802.15.4. /liliExperience with troubleshooting capabilities for complex RF sub‑system issues, including TX/RX and throughput performance degradation. /liliExperience bringing up radio prototypes, developing, and running RF validation tests using specialized equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and LitePoint IQxel integrated testers. /liliExperience with DFM and high‑volume manufacturing test requirements for RF sub‑systems. /li /ulh3Preferred Qualifications /h3ulliPhD or Master in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related degree. /liliExperience with Wi‑Fi 6E or Wi‑Fi 7 tri‑band router/access point applications. /liliExperience with Wi‑Fi throughput test set up and validation. /liliExperience with Qualcomm Wi‑Fi platforms. /liliKnowledge of design and testing requirements for compliance with FCC and ETSI regulatory standards for radio transmitters. /liliExperience with GNSS radio integration, development and testing. /liliAt least five full product development cycles leading to the successful launch of a consumer product. /liliStrong written and verbal communication skills. /li /ulh3EEO Statement /h3pAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. /ph3Compensation /h3pThe base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
