Deepfield Senior Systems Software Engineer

Responsibilities
* Own new solutions from prototyping through deployment
* Automate all the things
* Work closely with other groups to diagnose, solve, and prevent system problems
* Provide subject matter expertise during design sessions and technical reviews
* Support and foster cross team communication with a focus on resolving issues with a sense of urgency
* Participate in a Pager Duty rotation to support what you build
Key Skills And Experience
You have:
* Demonstrable expertise with Linux systems (you adore the command line!).
* Git and day to day git from the shell.
* Experience with one or more configuration management platforms, such as SaltStack, Chef, Puppet, etc.
* Python and shell scripting experience
It would also be nice if you had:
* Experience in a SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) role
* Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions)
* Performance tuning experience (Linux, Postgres, etc)
* Interest and/or experience with cloud providers and technologies (AWS, GCP and Terraform)
* Networking knowledge (UDP/TCP/IP, IPSEC, IPv4, IPv6, BGP)
* Software packaging and distribution experience (building debians/rpms or other software distribution mechanisms)
* Experience in troubleshooting large-scale complex systems from a reliability and scalability perspective
* Familiarity with principles and practices of infrastructure and application monitoring
