PpbSenior Design Engineer /b – bNatus Medical Incorporated /b /p pbFOR MORE THAN 80 YEARS, /b Natus has been working in collaboration with clinicians to deliver industry‑leading neuro solutions that help providers more easily make sense of the body’s signals. Engineered with input from those who have lived the care experience, our technology simplifies complex processes and improves accuracy and efficiency. There is a role for everyone who wants to be part of the innovative solutions at bNatus Neuro /b. /p h3Position Summary /h3 pThe Senior PCBa Layout Design Engineer is responsible for leading the design, layout, and release of multi‑layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) used in advanced medical and neurophysiological systems. This role owns the end‑to‑end PCB layout process; from schematic import and component placement through manufacturing documentation, ensuring high‑performance, manufacturable, and compliant designs that meet project cost, timing and performance targets. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liLead PCBA layout design for complex, mixed‑signal boards (analog, digital, power) primarily in Altium Designer. /li liCollaborate with electrical, mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to ensure component placement, stack‑up, and routing meet performance, safety, reliability, and manufacturing targets. /li liPerform design rule checks (DRC) including trace, clearance, vias, component placements, power ground plane, high‑speed RF signals, solder mask, polarity markings, and silkscreen best practices. /li liLead layout design reviews. /li liGenerate and maintain fabrication and assembly data packages, including BOM, Gerbers, ODB++ files, pick and place centroid files, IPC netlist, and assembly specifications. /li liManage PCBA product life cycle; submit, review, approve, and release engineering change orders. /li liApply Design for Manufacturability (DfM), End‑of‑Line (EOL), Design for Assembly (DfA), and Design for Test (DfT) principles in every layout iteration; interface with contract manufacturers and PCB fabricators to resolve issues throughout the development process. /li liSupport hardware and firmware engineering during prototype and validation builds, ensuring layout changes are controlled and documented through the engineering change process. /li liEnsure regulatory and quality compliance with medical‑device standards: IEC 60601‑1, IEC 60601‑1‑2, IPC‑6012, IPC‑A‑610 Class 3, RoHS, and REACH. /li liDrive continuous improvement in eCAD library management, stack‑up templates, footprints / symbol standards, and release discipline. /li /ul h3Required Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field. /li li7+ years of professional experience in rigid, flex, and rigid‑flex PCB design and layout using Altium Designer (MUST HAVE). PADS/Mentor and Cadence are a plus. /li liExperience designing for low‑noise analog front ends (e.g., EEG, EMG, ECG, or similar bio‑signal acquisition). /li liExperience designing with high‑speed interfaces (e.g., USB HS, LVDS, SPI, FMC). /li liExperience with high‑density interconnect (HDI) routing strategies. /li liFamiliar with impedance control, power‑distribution design, EMC/EMI mitigation, grounding, shielding, stack‑up design, and isolation strategies. /li liExperience working in regulated or high‑reliability industries (medical, aerospace, automotive, defense). /li liExperience creating high‑quality, manufacturable footprints, and managing and maintaining cloud‑based and database components. /li liStrong understanding of PCB fabrication processes, materials, and design constraints. /li liExposure to automated test and ICT/FCT fixture design considerations. /li liProficiency in 3D MCAD integration (SolidWorks with MCAD CoDesigner, or STEP‑based ECAD‑MCAD workflows). /li liExperience with Process Lifecycle Management systems such as Agile PLM. /li /ul h3Core Competencies /h3 ul liLayout ownership and accountability. /li liCross‑functional collaboration with electrical, mechanical, firmware engineering teams, supply chain, operations, project management, and external vendors to drive action‑driven results. /li liDetail‑oriented with strong documentation discipline. /li liContinuous improvement mindset. /li liMentorship and technical leadership. /li /ul h3Compensation and Benefits /h3 pAlong with a competitive salary and bonus structure, we offer a comprehensive benefits package per our Collective Contract, which includes PTO, personal days, and health benefits. /p h3EEO Statement /h3 pNatus Medical is an equal opportunity employer.
