• Tech Lead is responsible for defining, building and leading the technical architecture of Delcon's digital products — primarily Delconet, the company's flagship platform for blood centers and transfusion organizations.Remote-friendly, Europe-based preferred. Two sides of the same coin — product and technology, working in lockstep.The role owns the technical roadmap of Delconet, leads internal engineering efforts, and manages relationships with external technology partners and vendors — ensuring Delcon moves fast, builds right, and maintains a competitive technical edge.The Software Architect &

• Tech Lead reports to the VP of Products and works closely with a distributed team across Italy and the United States.Work ArrangementDelcon is headquartered in Grassobbio (BG), Italy, 50 minutes far from Milan. This role is open to candidates based anywhere in Europe and does not require relocation. The position operates on a remote-first basis, working closely with teams in both Italy and the United States.Regular travel to the Italian HQ is expected — at least once per quarter— for team alignment, product reviews and strategic sessions.Key Responsibilities

Own and evolve the overall technical architecture of DelcoNet ensuring scalability, reliability and long-term maintainability.Translate product requirements and concepts from the Product Manager into concrete technical solutions, balancing speed, quality and sustainability.Define and enforce engineering standards, coding best practices and development processes across the team.Make key architectural decisions — infrastructure, integrations, platform evolution — and communicate trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.Drive the technical roadmap in alignment with the product roadmap, identifying dependencies, risks and priorities proactively.

Product Development

\n

Design and own integrations with external systems (e.g. blood center management systems, scheduling systems, third-party APIs), ensuring robust and maintainable interfaces.Technically proficient and comfortable writing and reviewing code directly. This role requires active, hands‐on software development alongside architectural design and partner coordination.Lead and mentor internal developers, providing clear technical direction, reviewing work and supporting professional growth.Identify and manage external technology partners and vendors: evaluate proposals, oversee deliverables, ensure alignment with technical standards and cost efficiency.Collaborate closely with the Product Manager and VP of Products, acting as the primary technical voice in product and strategic discussions.Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.Drive the adoption of AI tools and capabilities within the product and within the development workflow itself.Work alongside the AI Lead to evaluate, prototype and implement AI‐powered features — including prompt management systems, automation workflows and intelligent scheduling.Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape: understand new models, frameworks, implementation patterns and tooling.Champion AI‐assisted development practices (e.g. Cursor, GitHub Copilot, agentic coding tools) to accelerate delivery quality and speed.

Required Experience & Background

\n

7+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a technical lead or software architect role.Proven track record of owning and delivering enterprise‐grade software platforms — from architecture through production.Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring developers, and coordinating with external vendors or technology partners.Background in agile environments with iterative delivery practices.Experience in IoT platforms, managing devices, security and data flows is a plus.Experience in health tech, medtech or regulated software environments is a plus.Fluent in English (written and spoken). Italian is a plus.

Technical Skills

\n

Strong command of C# and ASP.NET (Framework and/or Core) — the primary backend stack at Delcon.Solid experience in Web API / REST service design and development.Proficiency in SQL Server: schema design, query optimisation, stored procedures.Experience with Windows Server, IIS deployments and IaaS infrastructure management.Strong understanding of layered and service‐oriented architectures (e.g. controller / service / repository patterns).Familiarity with DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, deployment automation.Working knowledge of AI/ML con
