Today the platform powers checkout for retailers and travel brands including Mango, Nike, Booking and Lastminute. Twelve million consumers, €2 billion in 2025 volume, a regulated payment institution licence in hand, and a cap table that includes the investors behind Stripe and Spotify.
The company is now strengthening its engineering leadership ahead of a significant expansion of the consumer product suite, with new partnerships shipping alongside Visa and a major European bank.
🏆 The Opportunity:
The company is investing in its consumer products. The biggest new product is a charge card customers can use in shops, online and through their mobile wallet.
The card has to be correct every time it is used. The systems integrate with Visa and Mastercard and must meet PCI-DSS requirements. The architecture is being designed now, and the decisions you make will shape the product for years.
You would lead a team of five to six engineers inside a B2C engineering group of around 25 people. You would work alongside the Leads for Club, Mobile, Lending and the customer experience, and collaborate directly with the co-founder CTO on architecture and roadmap. The Card is a new product, and the technical direction is yours to set. Total engineering is around 85 people in a company of 200.

🟢 Technical direction of the Card product: architecture, interfaces, partner integrations, data model.
🟢 Card platform features end-to-end: onboarding, transaction processing, customer controls, spending limits, wallet integration.
🟢 RESTful APIs integrating card-issuing partners, payment networks (Visa, Mastercard), and the firm's core platform.
🟢 Security, fraud prevention and PCI-DSS compliance for everything that touches card data.
🟢 The technical bar for the team. Hiring, mentoring, and shaping the standard everyone works to.
🟢 Working alongside Product, Risk, Payments and Infrastructure when the architectural decisions get made.
📈 The Tech Stack: NodeJs, PostgreSQL, AWS, PCI-DSS across payment data, AI Development & Workflow Tooling.
🌍 Location & Setup:
Fully remote within Italy, Spain or France. Office optional in Milan, Barcelona or Paris. Right to work in IT, ES or FR required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
